Ask participants about their perspective
Surveys can explore needs, preferences, satisfaction and the reasons people give for their choices. Answers reflect how a question was asked and when it was answered. They are not automatically a complete account of activity. Review wording, response options and recruitment criteria alongside the findings.
Observe activity without inventing motives
Within consent, behavioral records can describe app use, comparisons and the order of actions. A record of someone pausing or repeating a step does not explain why. There may be several explanations, and the researcher should avoid assigning a motive from a single observed action.
Connect both to one research question
For a product choice, compare the factors participants mention with the comparison process the study can observe. Agreement can add context. Disagreement calls for checking dates, scope and question wording, not immediately dismissing a participant’s answer as untrue. Keep self-reported explanations separate from recorded actions in the report.
Choose a suitable starting point
A clearly defined attitude question may start with a survey. If the question concerns actual use, confirm the conditions, consent and fees for behavioral research. OmniROI workspaces support surveys and inviting your own participants. Review the pricing page for the included features and limits. Recruitment, rewards and advanced analysis are charged separately.
